Delete your data

Version 1.1, effective from 3 November 2026. Version 1.0 is available on request.

This is an English translation of the Dutch page Gegevens verwijderen. The Dutch text is the original.

This page explains how to have data deleted from Sondable, what exactly happens then, and how long it takes. Choose the situation that applies to you.

You connected your Instagram account to Sondable

There are three ways. They do not do the same thing; read what you choose.

1. Disconnect in Sondable.
Settings → Platforms → Instagram → Disconnect. The access token is deleted immediately and nothing new comes in. The measurements, comments and messages already there stay in the workspace until the agency deletes them or cancels the workspace. Choose this if you want to pause the connection but keep the history.

2. Remove Sondable in Instagram.
Open Instagram → Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → Sondable → Remove. Instagram sends us a notice. We stop fetching at once and delete all data for that account within 30 days: profile, Reels, measurements, media files, comments, messages, and everything the AI derived from them. The agency is notified. If the agency reconnects the account within those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled.

3. Send a deletion request.
Email privacy@sondable.com with the username of the Instagram account. Within five working days you receive a confirmation with a request number. We delete all data for that account within 30 days of your request.

You connected your TikTok account to Sondable

Here too there are three ways, and here too they do not do the same thing.

1. Disconnect in Sondable.
Settings → Platforms → TikTok → Disconnect. Both tokens are deleted immediately, we also revoke the access at TikTok, and nothing new comes in. If revoking at TikTok fails, Sondable says so; then remove Sondable in TikTok yourself (way 2). The videos and measurements already there stay in the workspace until the agency deletes them or cancels the workspace. Choose this if you want to stop the connection but keep the history.

2. Remove Sondable in TikTok.
Open the TikTok app → Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services → Sondable → Remove. TikTok sends us a notice. We stop fetching at once and delete all data for that account within 30 days: profile, videos, measurements, follower counts, cover images in the media vault, publications, and everything the AI derived from them. The agency is notified. If the agency reconnects the account within those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled. The same happens when TikTok tells us the account was deleted or banned.

3. Send a deletion request.
Email privacy@sondable.com with the username of the TikTok account. Within five working days you receive a confirmation with a request number. We delete all data for that account within 30 days of your request.

You want to know the status of your request

Every request gets a request number, including a request that comes in through Instagram or TikTok. Email that number to privacy@sondable.com and within five working days you hear whether the request has been received, is being handled or is completed. If we refuse (part of) a request, for example because the law obliges us to keep something, we say exactly what and why.

You have an account at Sondable as a user (agency, team member or creator)

Ask the administrator of your agency to delete your account, or email us. We delete your name, email address and login details within 30 days. Actions you left in the agency's log stay under an anonymised name, so the agency can keep accounting for what happened in a workspace.

Are you the administrator of an agency yourself and do you want everything gone? Terminate the agreement. You then have 30 days to export, after which we delete the agency with all its workspaces. See the terms and conditions, article 8.

You commented on or sent a message to a connected account, or you appear as a lead in Sondable

Then Sondable processes your data on behalf of the agency or creator you were in touch with. Address your request to that agency or creator; they are responsible for your data and can delete it themselves. If that does not work, email privacy@sondable.com with the name of the Instagram account you responded to. We pass your request on and make sure it is handled within 30 days.

What "deleted" means

Gone from the database and from the media vault. Backups rotate automatically; within 90 days a deleted item is no longer in them either. We keep invoices for seven years because the law requires it; they contain no data from Instagram or TikTok.
